A WEEKEND AT THE PROVINCIAL.

We have fallen in love with Gorgi Coghlan & her new hotel.
Honouring the beauty & history of the past with pattern & print. A match made in heaven.

We’d like to check in with breakfast included please.

Who is your favourite interior designer?

Kit Kemp – I adore her playfulness and use of colour. She provided so much inspiration for me when we were designing our Provincial Hotel in Ballarat. She helps you break free from the rule book and she really helped me discover my own style.

Hot Gorgi top to our readers about life?

I’m a passionate gardener and horse rider and along with singing, these activities nurture my soul and allow me to switch off from the manic world of media.

I’m a big believer in meditation and stilling my mind to recalibrate and I’ve really found the power of saying no has helped me achieve more balance in my life. Like anything it’s not easy at first but once you practise it – it changes your life!

If you were not running an amazing hotel or presenting on a national TV show what else would you be doing?

I’d be really happy to be on the farm riding horses with our daughter and enjoying some down time with my family. I’d have a wicked veggie patch and I’d be quite content gardening and pottering around. I absolutely adore living in the country. It stills my soul.

A weekend at the Provincial, what are the must do’s?

Breakfast at Lola, hire our blue bikes and cruise around the lake, spend the afternoon gin tasting at the award-winning Kilderkin distillery followed by a candlelit dinner at Lola before walking upstairs to your stylish, comforting boutique hotel room to have a restful night’s sleep and compulsory sleep in.

What is the Provincial’s restaurant signature dish?

Our head chef Shaun Thomson has an incredible ability to showcase our local producers through his delicious seasonal menus – its hard to pick a favourite, but if forced it would be his Tuki Farm lamb shoulder with celeriac, pickled onion and salt bush. It’s incredible.

Favourite Binny look from this shoot?

I’m in love with the pink gingham shirt. It’s such a fun print and you can dress it up with a skirt as we did in our photo at Lola, or keep it relaxed with jeans. It’s so fun and feminine and for this country girl, it’s gingham at any opportunity!

What is the best moment you have had on the Project?

A highlight was definitely Will Ferrell coming on as Ron Burgundy and having an ‘Anchorman – off’ with Ray Martin. Unforgettable! I’ve never laughed so hard on live television.

If you can invite three famous people to dinner who would they be?

  1. Michelle Obama and Barrack Obama (Can they please count as one?!)
  2. Tim Minchin
  3. Oprah

Thank you to Gorgi, The Provincial Hotel, Taegan Glenane & Genevieve Manley for the Beautiful images.
